One Man's Opinion
Ladies and gentlemen...........I recently had an occasion to discuss book pricing with two important segments of the book business ...Barnes and Noble, probably the country's largest retail brick and mortar book seller and the American Library Association...the voice of professional librarians.
At Barnes and Noble, customers can buy a card that gives a 10% discount on in-store items plus other benefits. Cost for this is $25.00 yearly.
Recent articles in PUBLISHERS WEEKLY and other trade journals chart the sales of the major book stores. Barnes and Noble have or will be closing over one hundred stores in the next few years!!
Public libraries are still doing well (for the most part)with their circulation figures …up!!
Impact of on-line book sales are having quite an effect on brick and mortar
This is interesting!!!! Let’s look at this more next time…so..Folks please stay tuned for next edition !!!!
